Pun of the week

Isaac cracked his first original joke this week, and it was punny (my Dad was so proud!). While admiring a heavy frost one morning he said, "You know if you put a bee's stinger in the frost you'll have frosting." Get it, frost-sting? Ha ha ha ha ha!

Recipe for Snow Ice Cream

INGREDIENTS:
Snow (clean and fluffy)
1/2 t. vanilla
1/4 to 1/2 c milk or cream
sugar
food coloring (optional)

Fill a cereal bowl with clean, fluffy snow. Add vanilla and enough milk or cream to give it a good consistency. Mix well. Add in enough sugar to sweeten to your liking. If you like, add a few drops of food coloring (our boys think that is the best part). Enjoy!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow... again!

Getting well over a foot of snow just after Thanksgiving and having it stick around for over a week was pretty unreal for around here. We just don't get snow like that.
Getting another 8-10 inches last week and having it stay for a week is nuts. We just don't get snow like that... twice! And it's snowing again!!!!
It's so breathtakingly beautiful and the days are so much brighter with the light reflecting off of it. That said I'm glad I don't have drive much in it!

Big hair

This was actually taken before Christmas just before a hair cut. I thought it was funny and decided to share. He's much more kempt now, much to Wade's relief. I like to let his hair grow out cuz it curls naturally and looks great with a bit of gel.

Christmas recap

Christmas is over, the tree has come down (only because it was dropping needles everywhere -- I'm usually game for it staying up till nearly February), the toy box is overflowing with new toys (lots of Thomas the Tank Engine), I've eaten more candy in the past month and a half than in the last 10 1/2 combined (yum!) and I just imported over 225 holiday photos from the camera. I'll spare you all 225, but here are a few.

We visited Derric and Amanda in Beaverton over New Year's weekend and Dad and Mom Howard joined us there too. One day we took the boys to Washington Park in Portland where they expelled a lot of energy and had lots of fun.

Elijah was fascinated with Amanda's singing puppies.

The twins rough-housing with Uncle Derric.

Isaac playing with a cool new animal flashlight from Grandpa and Grandma.

Isaac, Levi and Luke each got a new quilt from Grandma for their new big beds.
